Getting rid of these creepy crawlies from our yard makes our home feel safer and healthier. There are lots of things that we can do in order to eliminate them without using any harmful chemicals. These natural remedies are easy and safe to use and you can utilize them for maximum spider-fighting effects.
1. Lady bugs
Having a garden that is right up against your house catches the lady bug’s attention especially when your garden has flowering plants. It simply allows the bug to focus more on the plants than to stay in your house.
2. Natural Spider Spray
Combine a cup of apple cider vinegar, a teaspoon of oil, one cup of pepper and a teaspoon of liquid soap and putt all of these in a spray bottle and mix it well. Just make sure that you re-spray everything every couple of days and after it rains.
3. Peppermint Oil
Spiders definitely hate peppermint as well as other pets. But if you want to apply it to eliminate spiders, you can get a plastic spray bottle and mix peppermint oil with water making it to last longer and dilute oil a little bit so that it will not irritate the your skin. You just have to spray it in any parts of your house where spiders most likely stay.
4. Keep Things Clean
If you keep your area clean, spiders will not stay there as spiders like to set up webs in cluttered areas. You should remove cobwebs as they occur regularly.
5. Get a pet
Most pets such as cats will chase any thing that moves as spiders do. You should be very cautious because some spiders are poisonous and they can harm other animals as they can harm people.
6. Clean Around The Perimeter
The area where your house is located should be free from wood piles, trash and debris as spiders will only build cobwebs there.
7. Use Cedar
Spiders feel creepy as they smell cedar, so having a cedar mulch in the perimeter of your house enables it to repel the spider.
8. Citrus Peels
Spider hates citrus such as lemons. If you use citrus peels, just make sure that you replace them every 24 hours so that the smell stays longer enough to chase these creepy crawlies.
Placing these chestnuts in the baseboard of your home will minimize the spider’s from coming in. A benefit of chestnuts is that it does not fade easily so you get long-term relief from spiders.
Put some loose leaf of it where spiders most likely occur. If you have children and pets, you can make a simple tobacco spray by mixing tobacco with water so that they can’t have any contact with it.
11. Hedge Apples
This is one of the oldest and most effective ways on how to get rid of spiders. Just remember to wear gloves and wash hands after applying it and make sure to put it on areas that children may not able to reach because this is toxic.
12. Check your house for cracks
Spiders can find small entrance which enables them to get inside your house. Just simply seal cracks of your house.
Spiders get killed if they get into borax. Just sprinkle this in areas where spiders stay and build cobwebs; also you can put it between your window and door thresholds.
14. Essential Oils
Here are some samples that work great in repelling spiders: Tea tree, Rose, Cinnamon, Citrus, Peppermint, Citronella, Lavender, Eucalyptus.
